Seventh consecutive year of passenger donation collection campaign

1,600 children will benefit from the donation of more than 5 thousand books.

March, 2023. AERIS, interested manager of the Juan Santamaría International Airport (AIJS), is honored to share that the Books For All campaign made possible that this 2023 close to 1,600 low-income children will receive more than 5 thousand textbooks of the four basic subjects (Spanish, mathematics, science and social studies) and English.

“We reaffirm once again our commitment to the Costa Rican educational sector, through a new edition of this successful campaign to collect passenger donations for the purchase of educational books. In this seventh consecutive year of the initiative, the material was donated to the León Cortés Castro School, Santa Rita School, Airport School and La California School,” said Adriana Bejarano, head of Environment, Health and Safety at AERIS Costa Rica.

As part of the selection of the beneficiary schools, we had the support of our partner Asociación Libros para Todos, in order to meet the needs of the schools closest to AIJS.

The official delivery of the didactic material to the schools took place this Thursday, March 22, with the participation of members of our Gente AERIS, staff of the Association and teachers from each school.

“Books for All is an initiative in which converges the determination of those of us who make up AERIS that education is the engine that will ensure a better future for Costa Rica, with our goal of positively impacting our closest circle of influence, as well as the assistance of the passengers of the country’s main air terminal that make these achievements a reality,” added Bejarano.

In the seven years of the campaign, more than 40,000 books have been donated, benefiting 10,000 students.
